NY State Bar Assoc. recommends mandate of Covid-19 vaccination

Yesterday, the New York State Bar Association did, in fact, pass a recommendation to mandate Covid-19 vaccination: https://www.law.com/newyorklawjournal/2020/11/07/state-bar-passes-mandatory-covid-19-vaccination-recommendation/

Is this a preemptive step to block legal challenge? We suspect it is.

Well, we citizens can take preemptive steps as well.

We can contact members of our own State Bar Association, hopefully before they follow suit (as is no doubt the plan).

The page at this link lists all contacts for the PA State Bar Association: https://www.pabar.org/site/About-PBA/Contact-the-PBA/Departments

Note that some are listed as Legislative Relations and Ethics committee contacts. It can’t hurt for those especially to hear directly the perspective of families who have already paid a heavy price for vaccinating.

They’re certainly not going to hear about you from industry lobbyists.

We should be as respectful as possible, and address an attorney the same way you would any other respected professional, using “Mr.” or “Ms.” followed by their surname.

They need to hear from families whose loved ones have already had serious adverse reactions to vaccines. They need to understand that the likelihood and severity of such reactions has been swept under the carpet with vaccines all along, the same way they industry has done with opioids, with Vioxx, with other pharmaceutical products.

And they need to understand that when something does go wrong, THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY.

They need to understand that it is even MORE likely that something may go wrong when a vaccine is made for a disease that the experts don’t yet fully understand. (HOW do people not see this????)

They need to understand that it is also more likely when a vaccine is fast-tracked.

They need to understand that the vaccines in question should not be expected to result in herd immunity, as they are to be approved with a goal of only 50% efficacy (efficacy meaning antibody production, not infection prevention), and it’s not even known whether natural infection results in long-term immunity.

Above all, they need to understand that the current situation is that those who do experience catastrophic reactions to vaccines — WHATEVER THE NUMBER — have largely been abandoned by both government and industry, because the supposed safety net, the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, has been a failure.

And here is another article on her findings: https://news.stanford.edu/2015/07/06/vaccine-court-engstrom-070615/

Just like the rest of the population, most members of the bar have no idea that the risk/benefit balance is so unclear, and that industry representatives might have left out key facts.

It’s difficult to oppose product marketing when it is presented as a public health initiative.
