Moderna’s vaccine was given Emergency Use Approval after examining 196 trial participants in their phase 3 trials.

196 out of 30,240 participants. The rest (30,224) did not have symptomatic COVID-19 infection, regardless of vaccination status.

PFIZER?

Pfizer’s vaccine was given Emergency Use Approval after examining 170 out of 43,448 participants. The rest (43,278) did not have symptomatic COVID-19 infection, regardless of vaccination status.

So, at this point, the efforts to put 100 MILLION shots into American arms is based on trial results for a grand total of 366 trial participants.

The other 73,502 trial participants, as far as we can tell, didn’t seem to count.

366 people.

Out of 73,868 participants.

That’s 0.5% of the trial participants.

Does it strike anyone else as strange, that a recommended medical intervention for 328 million people would be based on 0.5% of a trial’s test subjects?
