PCIC Lobby Day Update – October 2025
Hello PCIC friends! Stevie here from the Legislation Committee with an update from Harrisburg.
We’re back at the Capitol today for our second lobby day of the fall, and it’s been a productive and encouraging day so far.
This morning we met with Representative Ryncavage and Senator Gebhard. Both meetings went very well, and we were able to discuss how PCIC can support and provide input on several important bills.
Our team of advocates is also out connecting with other legislators in both the House and Senate, sharing information about key bills that affect Pennsylvanians’ medical rights and informed consent.
🏛️ Bills We’re Watching
House Bill 1881 and Senate Bill 1055
These are mirror bills, and we’re asking for specific amendments to be made.
This is the flyer we distributed to legislators please familiraize yourself with the details and stay engaged.
House Bill 1828
This bill is moving toward a third consideration vote, which means the full House will soon decide whether to pass it.
HB 1828 would give the Pennsylvania Department of Health expanded authority to decide which vaccines are covered by insurance — not only based on CDC and ACIP recommendations, but also by taking input from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) such as:
- The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
- The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
Our concern is that many of these organizations receive funding from pharmaceutical companies, creating a conflict of interest.
Allowing them to influence state vaccine-coverage decisions undermines transparency and public trust.
We’re making sure legislators understand these risks and are encouraging them to vote NO on HB 1828.
📣 Advocacy in Action
It’s been a full and energizing day at the Capitol — rumor has it even Mike Tyson stopped by the House today! There’s never a dull moment in Harrisburg.
More importantly, we’re encouraged by how our conversations have evolved. Just a few years ago, many legislators didn’t grasp why medical freedom and informed consent mattered so deeply to families.
Today, we’re seeing genuine understanding, curiosity, and growing support across both chambers.
🤝 Join Us for a Future Lobby Day
