World Health Organization quietly changed the definition of “herd immunity” for COVID-19

Between June and November, the World Health Organization quietly changed the definition of “herd immunity” for COVID-19.

Apparently, it now makes no difference whether the vaccine prevents infection and transmission.

It matters only that a “threshold” number of people are vaccinated.

At this point, it is not known whether either of the 2 approved COVID-19 vaccines prevents asymptomatic infection, nor whether they prevent transmission, nor how long they protect against severe symptoms.
