We are perplexed by a few things in this article.
First of all, if mouthwashes reduce viral load, why is the emphasis on whether or not they reduce transmission? Doesn’t reducing viral load reduce SYMPTOMS? As in, severity and complications?
Wasn’t that supposed to be the primary goal of the vaccine?
And maybe, just maybe, mouthwash can do it?
And then there’s this parting shot from the lead author of the study; yes, this confuses us:
“Though Meyers personally uses mouthwash twice a day he cautions people not to use these products in the hopes of fighting Covid-19.”
