Why would the CDC apparently exaggerate the mortality of a virus?

Our question: why?

Why would the CDC apparently exaggerate the mortality of a virus?

To our knowledge, there have been no significant advances in the field of cardiology in 2020 that would result in a significant DECREASE in deaths due to heart disease.

Especially a decrease proportional to the INCREASE in COVID-19-related deaths.

“The CDC classified all deaths that are related to COVID-19 simply as COVID-19 deaths. Even patients dying from other underlying diseases but are infected with COVID-19 count as COVID-19 deaths. This is likely the main explanation as to why COVID-19 deaths drastically increased while deaths by all other diseases experienced a significant decrease.”

‘’All of this points to no evidence that COVID-19 created any excess deaths. Total death numbers are not above normal death numbers. We found no evidence to the contrary,’ Briand concluded.”

This is an unusually good article for current times, in that it presents opposing views:

“During an interview with The News-Letter after the event, Poorna Dharmasena, a master’s candidate in Applied Economics, expressed his opinion about Briand’s concluding remarks.”

“ ‘At the end of the day, it’s still a deadly virus. And over-exaggeration or not, to a certain degree, is irrelevant,’ Dharmasena said.”

When asked whether the public should be informed about this exaggeration in death numbers, Dharmasena stated that people have a right to know the truth. However, COVID-19 should still continuously be treated as a deadly disease to safeguard the vulnerable population.”

Over-exaggeration is irrelevant? Really?

We would love to know where Dharmasena draws the line. When is it relevant, and when not?

And where exactly do we draw the line in actions taken to safeguard the vulnerable population? And WHICH vulnerable population?

Have you taken a look at the cereal aisle lately, and noticed the 20-odd new candy-based cereals that have appeared in the last few months? Hershey’s Kisses Cereal, Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, Brownie Crunch, Caramel Apple Jacks, and more.

It’s almost like they want us to eat more sugar. A lot more sugar.

Did you know that high sugar consumption is associated with heart disease?

Take a look: https://www.heartandstroke.ca/-/media/pdf-files/canada/2017-position-statements/sugar-ps-eng.ashx?fbclid=IwAR3F5CzJYRoUIzUT3tsh2_ou0YXEmUNTj6b6NSj9kELSZWA2tmYcxit_pyY

Are we really protecting our vulnerable populations here?

Or are we inadvertently creating them?

Edit: we note that a “fact check” has been attached to our post here. The fact check does not state that the article IS misleading, it says it “COULD BE” misleading. We believe the “fact check” is actually misleading. The article neither states nor implies that there are no excess deaths caused by COVID-19, as the fact-checker claims. The article suggests that death rates may have been EXAGGERATED.

The irony…
